Verantwortlichkeiten

Our M&A, Business Development & Innovation team is seeking an innovative and driven commercial leader to originate and execute high-impact commercial partnerships as well as incubate new innovations. The team fosters new opportunities aligned to strategic imperatives and drives those through to execution, partnering with great teams across the organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end delivery, which requires a balance between entrepreneurial and general management skills. The candidate will have a deep passion for ecommerce marketplaces, exceptional structured thinking and communication skills, and the ability to make recommendations with imperfect data. This will be combined with a strong bias for action, ability to negotiate complex transactions, proven experience with structuring customized deals, comfort working across a matrix and intuition in balancing “right” and “fast”. The role reports to the Director of M&A, Business Development and Innovation and in this flat structure will have significant exposure to senior leaders across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead business development and innovation for a defined strategic area
  • Partner with senior leaders as a strategic partner across a range of development activities such as financial analysis, business analysis, strategy analysis and formulation, due diligence, structuring, contract terms and conditions, valuation, negotiation and transition/integration of initiatives
  • Understand the company’s strategic imperatives and translate those in to tangible business development opportunities
  • End to end management of business development and innovation activities as described above
  • Establish ‘subject matter expertise’ along with strong external and internal networks

Anforderungsprofil

  • 9+ years experience in business development, strategic partnerships, strategy consulting and/or corporate development
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, mobile or payments industry experience preferred
  • Experience driving execution in a large matrix organization
  • Proven track record of successful negotiation for impactful, complex deals, including relationship management
  • M.B.A. from top tier institution a plus
  • M&A experience a plus
  • Fluent in English (other languages a plus)
  • Willing to travel up to 30%
  • Location: Zurich, London, or Berlin
