Manager Corporate Development

Our client is a globally leading Life Sciences and Diagnostics company.


In this position, you will own the Corporate Development Strategy process and guide the organization in developing new specific strategies and market understanding. Within the field of the inorganic growth you support and enable the aggressive growth targets through M&A and partnerships, including opportunities that are technology bolt-ons or adjacent to the company's product portfolio. You will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, managing and completing of partnerships and M&A transactions. You will understand both the science and the commercial potential and have the ability to make it happen. You will be smart, practical, passionate, driven and have a track record of 'getting stuff done'. You will report to the Head of Corporate Development. You will also have key internal relationships with the CEO, Management Board Members, Business Unit Managers and Finance executives.

  • Managing a diverse funnel of M&A and open innovation prospects
  • Owning and driving the acquisition process from market identification and assessment to target cultivation, through due diligence, deal execution and integration
  • Supplying the firm's leadership with insightful competitive analysis and strategic advice; prepare presentations for reviewing opportunities with Senior Management and Board Members
  • Preparing and reviewing Financial models (valuation of companies)
  • Strategic and financial analysis of targets & competitors; detailed industry and company analysis, ownership of market intelligence for targets and competitors
  • Identifying and cultivating proprietary growth opportunities
  • Participating in development of the organic business strategy
  • Assess and continually improve M&A execution and post-deal integration support and monitoring


  • M.Sc. or PhD in Sciences (preferably life sciences disciplines like Biology), an MBA is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years top tier consulting experience
  • Experience in strategy, marketing and/or product development of significant technology products
  • International experience - particularly outside of Europe - preferred
  • Intense creativity and ability to juggle multiple prioritize and focus on the critical few
  • Excellent analytical, fact based strategic planning, and problem solving skills
  • Honest, ethical and the highest degree of integrity
